How we verify
A number, part number or procedure step is shown as Verified only when:
- at least two independent sources give the same value, and
- at least one of them is factory data: a factory service manual (FSM) or a technical service bulletin (TSB).
Independent means a separate publication. The same table republished on several websites, or several years of the same factory manual, counts as one source.
Anything short of that is flagged, never shown as Verified:
- Single source. Only one source gives this figure.
- Not yet verified. It has not been checked against that rule yet.
- Sources conflict. The sources do not agree. The page shows the disagreement instead of picking a number.
Part numbers follow the same rule. A Mopar parts catalog listing counts as the factory source, and it needs one independent catalog to agree. Aftermarket cross-references can’t have a factory source, so they need two independent catalogs and are labeled 2 catalogs instead of Verified.
The full rules, including what counts as factory data and how sign-off works, are in the editorial & sourcing policy.
